• This means it requires more care than your own hair.
• The way you wash, dry, style, and store your hair will directly affect its lifespan.

Treat your Mane Era hair like luxury fabric — care equals longevity.

Washing Your Mane Era Hair

Recommended: 1–2 washes per week

Over-washing can:

• Dry the hair
• Fade colour
• Shorten the lifespan

Before Washing

• Gently detangle the hair using a soft bristle or extension-safe brush
• Always start from the ends and work upwards
  

Shampoo & Conditioner

• Use professional, extension-safe products only
• Avoid supermarket shampoos
• Shampoo gently, smoothing the product downwards — do not scrub or pile the hair
• Condition mid-lengths to ends only
• Avoid applying conditioner or masks near attachment areas

Key Rule

❌ Never wash hair upside down

Always wash upright in the shower to prevent tangling.

Drying & Heat Styling

Drying

• Hair must be fully dried after every wash
• Never leave Mane Era hair damp or go to bed with wet hair
• Ensure the root/attachment area is completely dry

Leave-In Care

Before drying, apply:

• A leave-in conditioning spray
• A small amount of lightweight oil to mid-lengths and ends
  

Heat Styling

• Heat styling is safe with protection
• Always use a heat protectant
• Keep heat to a sensible temperature
• Excessive heat will:
  
  
• Dry the hair
• Fade colour
• Shorten lifespan
  

The less heat used, the longer your Mane Era hair will last.

Brushing & Daily Care

• Brush gently 2–3 times daily
• Always support the hair near the root when brushing
• Never aggressively pull or brush from the top down
• Do not brush when soaking wet

Recommended brushes:

• Soft bristle brush (daily use)
• Extension-safe detangling brush

Sleeping With Mane Era Hair

Before bed:

• Ensure hair is completely dry
• Brush thoroughly
• Secure hair in a loose plait or low ponytail
• Use a soft scrunchie
• Sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase is highly recommended

Colour, Toning & Chemical Services

⚠️ Colouring, toning, perming, or chemically altering Mane Era hair is not recommended.

• Chemical services will:

• Dry the hair
• Void any fault or quality claims

Silver shampoo:

• Use sparingly and at your own risk
• Can grab quickly causing extreme blue/ purple tone and dry the hair
• Always dilute and avoid frequent use

Shedding, Texture & Longevity

• Light shedding is normal with human hair
• Lighter shades may have a shorter lifespan due to the processing required to achieve pale tones
• With correct care, Mane Era hair is designed to be worn beautifully over time

Longevity depends on:

• Heat usage
• Washing frequency
• Product choice
• Daily handling

Holidays, Swimming & Sun Exposure

Extensions on holiday are worn at your own risk.

We do not recommend swimming with extensions due to:

• Chlorine
• Salt water
• Sun exposure
• Hard water

If swimming cannot be avoided:

• Detangle thoroughly
• Secure hair in a loose plait
• Avoid buns
• Rinse hair immediately after
• Deep condition once dry

⚠️ Sun cream containing Avobenzone can cause blonde hair to turn peach/pink.

Product Recommendations

We recommend professional-only brands such as:

• Kerastase
• Moroccan Oil
• Redken

Use:

• Extension-safe shampoo & conditioner
• Heat protector every time
• Lightweight oil as needed on lengths and ends

Poor-quality products will shorten the life of your Mane Era hair.
